E3 Spark Plugs-Sponsored Takes a Lickin' Modified Tractor Wins NFMS Championship Tractor Pull

The annual National Farm Machinery Show Championship Tractor Pull recently wrapped, and E3 Spark Plugs made an enviable showing. Driven by Steve Bunnage, owner of Steve Bunnage Motorsports, the E3 Spark Plugs-sponsored Takes a Lickin' modified tractor performed like a boss, beating out 14 fierce competitors and taking home the Modified Class Championship.

"A great way to start out the 2015 pulling season," Bunnage said after the hard-earned win.

The annual tractor pull is the nation's largest indoor pull. Held at Louisville, Kentucky's Freedom Hall, this invitation-only event stars the nation's best drivers and their machines — pro stocks, super stocks, modified, and alcohol tractors as well as two-wheel and four-wheel drive trucks - competing in multiple mud-slinging performances.

Debuting in 1969 during the fourth National Farm Machinery Show, the Championship Tractor Pull was the vision of Billy Joe Miles. It began as a one-night, single-class event awarding a grand total of $5,700, but over the years has grown to a four-day extravaganza with more than $200,000 in prize money up for grabs. The pull quickly became the crown jewel event of the larger NFMS and its ever growing popularity has made it a premiere event of its own, attracting more than 75,000 fans each year.

We here at E3 Spark Plugs are proud to have Steve Bunnage Motor Sports represent us on the tracks and look forward to the next big win.
