Carbon emissions are contributing to global warming; seriously effecting what could be irreversible climate change. One spark plug manufacturer, E3 Spark Plugs, has taken the lead to reduce carbon emissions from internal combustion engines by developing a low emissions spark plug. E3’s revolutionary new “green” spark plug for automotive, small engine, and powersports applications has been proven to reduce harmful toxic carbon emissions as much as 58% in small engine applications while improving fuel economy as much as 13%.
In recognition of Climate Change Day on November 3rd, E3 will make a donation of 1% of the company’s revenue from all plugs sold from November 1, 2007 – December 31, 2007 to The Nature Conservancy. This includes 1% of sales revenue from over 12,000 retail stores including CSK, Pep Boys, Home Depot, Advance Auto, Lowe’s, Wal-Mart and more.

E3 spark plugs reduce hydrocarbon (HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, a claim that cannot be made by any other spark plug on the market. E3’s proprietary electrode design ensures a more complete combustion of the air/fuel mixture. Test results have demonstrated a reduction of temissions in all engine classes and as much as a 58% reduction of emissions in small engines with continued use. Fuel economy is increased on average, 3-13% depending on engine class.
In 2000, the EPA included the E3 spark plug in EPA rulemakings governing engine emissions under 19kW. E3 is the only spark plug that has been recognized by the EPA as a supplemental emissions technology device.
